Rotor Dynamic Instability Tester
The Rotor Dynamic Instability test rig monitors oil whirl in a journal
bearing under loaded conditions. Temperature of the oil is controlled to see
if the whirl at different rotational speeds can be eliminated by changing the
oil temperature. The rig, which is capable of a top speed of 10,000 rpm, is
equipped with vibration and temperature transducers and uses Benly's ADRE for
data acquisition and analysis.
